Sea-Changers' Founders Receive MBEs from The Princess Royal

The two Co-Founders of Sea-Changers, Helen Webb and Rachel Lopata attended an investiture ceremony at Buckingham Palace where they received MBEs for services to marine nature conservation. They were named in the new King's first birthday honours list in June of this year.

The ceremony took place on 2nd November 2023 and Sea-Changers' current Chair, Sarah Brown and Grants Officer Rosy Carter attended as Rachel and Helen's guests.

Rachel Lopata said: "These awards recognise the success of Sea-Changers. Sarah and Rosy have both been a huge part of that success, it was vital to us to have them at the investiture and we very much feel that the entire team of trustees and volunteers, past and present, have been recognised with these awards."

Helen added "It was a wonderful occasion and this recognition spurs us on in our ambitions to further expand the work Sea-Changers is doing, supporting local communities to protect, preserve and enhance the wonderful marine and coastal creatures and habitats, all around the UK."
