Sea-Changers and River Island team up for Christmas window display

River Island is raising money for marine conservation this Christmas by supporting Sea-Changers. Fashion giant River Island has limited edition seal and penguin mannequins in this year’s seasonal window display. The super-cute mannequins will feature in the windows of 77 River Island stores this Christmas. The mannequins will be available to purchase in-store only on a first-come-first-served basis from Monday 3rd December, at a price of £40 each.

Sea-Changers hopes the festive window displays will raise awareness amongst shoppers of the importance of protecting and conserving our oceans and make more people aware of Sea-Changers’ work around the UK.

Proceeds from the sales of the mannequins will go towards Sea-Changers’ grant fund which is distributed to UK based marine conservation projects on a bi-annual basis. Sea-Changers awards the donated money, in accordance with their funding policy, to a range of projects engaged in: direct marine clean up action, education and awareness-raising about marine conservation issues, species and habitat protection, and conservation research. Many of the projects funded undertake grassroots community conservation work that simply would not take place without the Sea-Changers grant. Since being set up in 2011, Sea-Changers has awarded over 120 grants to projects right around the UK.
