In the past twelve months our awareness of the impact of plastic on our seas and shores has grown dramatically and many of us are keen to organise or take part in practical activities that seek to address this growing problems.
Sea-Changers are thrilled to be working in partnership with the British Marine Federation (BMF), The Green Blue and The Friends of Weston Shore to run ‘The Boat Show Beach Clean’ on the 24th August , between 11.00 -14.00 on Weston Shore, Southampton. The clean-up takes place in the lead up to the annual Southampton Boat Show which runs from the 13th to the 22nd of September. Invited along to the beach clean will be exhibitors from the boat show, BMF members and show visitors. This year at the Boat Show the BMF, in collaboration with Sea-Changers, are keen to promote a message of reduction in plastic use and plastic impact on our shores and seas.
If you are interested in taking part we are meeting by the Pitch and Putt, Weston Ln, Southampton SO19 9DX. There is parking at the Pitch and Putt. More parking is available on Weston Parade just 5 minutes’ walk further down towards Netley.
