2017 - Grant Awarded - £490

The inaccessible caves and coves along Northern Ireland’s spectacular North Coast will be made safe for seabirds, seals and cetaceans thanks to funding from Sea-Changers.

With the support of the Northern Ireland Environment Support Team, volunteers will remove truckloads of rubbish through a series of extreme litterpicks. Boats will enable us to visit previously inaccessible areas, where waste that has accumulated unchecked for decades will be removed and ferried to the nearest harbour.

The long-lasting impact of our project will be enhanced through the production and dissemination of a video showcasing our efforts to tackle the marine litter problem. This will raise awareness of the sources of rubbish accumulating along our coast, the wildlife that it threatens and what we can do to eliminate it.
