Tomorrow is Black Friday – which sounds like a day when you should maybe call in sick, stay in bed and definitely not venture outside.

Names can be misleading though, as anyone who’s ordered Bombay duck can tell you. Black Friday is traditionally the busiest shopping day of the year (in the U.S. at least) and, like Halloween, it’s gradually creeping into British culture too. Think of it as the Boxing Day sales come early and you won’t be far off the mark.

ASAP Supplies Ltd. have signed up to support UK marine conservation by supporting the charity, Sea-Changers. ASAP Supplies, which celebrated its 25th anniversary earlier this year will become a Silver Level Business Supporter of Sea-Changers. Their support includes a generous £500 donation. The money will feed into Sea-Changers’ grant fund which is distributed to UK based marine conservation projects. ASAP Supplies, in supporting this innovative charity, demonstrates its strong environmental commitment. ASAP also joins a growing community of Sea-Changer businesses and individuals who are passionate about giving something back to the seas they love. This month Sea-Changers will be at the PSP Southampton Boat Show as the chosen charity of PSP, the Show’s lead sponsor where they hope that the approach taken by ASAP Supplies will demonstrate to other boating businesses the value of supporting marine conservation in this way.

Over 11 action-packed days in September, the Sea-Changers’ team of volunteers made a real impact at the PSP Southampton Boat Show 2014. As the charity partner of PSP Sea-Changers, organised a range of events and met hundreds of visitors to the show. Our events included:

Thirty five TAQA employees spent a sunny afternoon on Aberdeen Beach in August but their purpose wasn’t to sunbathe but to clean up the beach. TAQA had invited Sea-Changers Marine Conservation Charity to organise the beach clean event which resulted in 265 kilos of rubbish being collected by the enthusiastic group of volunteering employees.
