Sea-Changers is delighted to announce that marine ecology and coastal expert Maya Plass has agreed to be its first patron. Maya will help the charity take its activities to the next level. She will work with Sea-Changers to heighten the profile of their fundraising model and recruit support amongst its core audiences of UK marine businesses and their customers, who are active in or on the sea.

Founder of Sea-Changers Helen Webb said: “We are delighted to have Maya working with us, her enthusiasm for the oceans is infectious and we know that Maya can help us to spread the word that the UK marine environment urgently requires protection and conservation. We hope to announce some further patrons in the near future, Maya will be part of an elite team of ambassadors to help us spread our message.”

Maya said: "My relationship with the sea started from a young age and has grown into a life-long passion.  As this relationship has grown I have discovered just how much we all enjoy and rely on our seas yet how much pressure we also put on it by our burgeoning society. Sea-Changers is an incredibly exciting charity that helps to redress this balance by allowing sea users and business to actively support marine conservation. I am delighted to join the Sea-Changers team to help make our mutual dream of better conserved seas a reality!"
