An exciting fun filled day of microscopic marine life. The public will learn about the vital role that this microscopic world plays within the marine ecosystem. The event will be hands on; visitors can examine freshly collected, local samples, enabling them to discover the magical world of these microscopic life forms.

The day will introduce the audience to the major groups of marine microorganisms found in the area; focusing on a range of marine micro communities: phytoplankton, zooplankton, epiphytic and benthos.

Along with using the latest technologies and high powered microscopes to look at the microorganisms, the day will also include colouring and craft activities for children to inform in a fun interactive way of life in the seas around them.
