2017 - Grant Award - £500

Falmouth Marine Conservation Group (FMCG) are delighted to receive £500 grant funding from the charity Sea Changers. The funding will go towards an important area of our work keeping the beaches clean and free of all kinds of litter that we find.

This is proving to be an increasingly important area of the group’s activity since it was established in October 2016. The funding will go towards providing extra litter pickers and gloves, etc., for the group.

We started the year on January 6th 2018, with a successful litter pick of the Greenbank area of Falmouth in conjunction with Greenbank Hotel, who were supportive of our efforts and provided a proper route for the disposal waste collected Clearing a beach area not usually covered by organised litter picks. Some fifty people including families helped on the day.

We are looking forward to further events for the year including, ‘Love your Beach’ day on February 14th with Your Shore Beach Rangers, participating in the Nationwide Litter Pick with the Tidy Britain Group in March and the Surfers Against Sewage Nationwide Beach Clean in April.

FMCG look forward to working with Sea Changers on this and other projects in the future.
