In 2017, friend and supporter of Sea-Changers, Lesley Foden is going to row the coastline of Britain to celebrate her 60th birthday. In Lesley’s own words she can tell you more:
“I am doing this to challenge myself, to increase awareness of the environmental problems of marine plastic by working in an awareness raising partnership with Sea-Changers, and to raise money for Lifeboats. This adventure is enormous for me ... it represents 'my Olympics', 'my Everest'. However, I am not seeking vain glory or gold medals, I simply want to get on and do something I've thought about for a long time. Before I can do the row, I need to raise about £15,000 to fund the expedition. I'm glued to my easel at the moment, aiming to raise as much as I can through sales of my work. As I finish a piece, it will appear on my website. However, on the basis that I am not Van Gogh or Banksie, there are three ways you could help me reach my target...
- You could get your firm to buy one of my corporate partnering packages. Click here for more information.
- You could buy one of my paintings.
- You could make a personal donation.
As part of my training, I will be covering the distance of the actual row (1800 nautical miles - between now and launch day next June) either on the rowing machine, the bike or by running (yuck!).
There's more information and a button for each of the three funding options on the home page of my website at row.lesleyfoden.com
Sea-Changers wishes Lesley the very best of luck with her challenge and invites you to support her efforts through donating to her event fundraising. We look forward to working with her in 2017 to highlight the issue of marine plastic. For more information about the challenge or ways to support Lesley visit her website.
